A little bit about our program…

Welcome to the rhythm of our days under the sun, where muddy knees, curious minds, and wonder-filled hearts lead the way.

Every day brings new discoveries, but here’s a peek into the magic of a Nurtured Oak session:

Morning welcome & circle time
Songs, greetings, movement, and connection.

Snack & Nourishment Break
Cozy moments to gather, share, and nourish.

Nature Exploration Walk
Children lead the way—climbing, digging, observing, collecting treasures.

Nature Craft or Group Lesson
Depending on what’s sparking our children’s curiosity, we might dive into a group lesson, get creative with a nature-inspired craft, or wander joyfully toward open-ended exploration—think building, water play, natural materials, and more! We follow their lead, always making space for wonder and discovery.

Lunch Time
We love seeing lunchboxes full of vibrant, nourishing foods that invite curiosity and creativity. It's all about eating the rainbow to keep our bodies energized for more play, exploration, and learning in nature!

Storytelling & Closing Circle
We end our day with a warm Waldorf-inspired storytelling circle, where we bring tales to life through imagination and rhythm, helping the children reflect and settle before we say goodbye.

Each day flows with the energy of the group and the natural world around us—flexible, joyful, and child-led.

At Nurtured Oak Nature School, we offer a bilingual, outdoor-based enrichment program designed to foster connection, curiosity, and confidence through nature immersion. While we are not a traditional licensed school, we operate as a nature enrichment program—supporting families who value hands-on, play-based learning in natural settings.

At Nurtured Oak, our program is thoughtfully designed to honor childhood in its truest form—playful, wild, imaginative, and deeply rooted in connection. We offer a bilingual (Spanish-English) nature immersion experience where children learn through hands-on exploration, storytelling, meaningful routines, and plenty of open-ended play.

At Nurtured Oak, we follow an emergent curriculum—which simply means we let the children lead the way. Instead of sticking to a rigid plan, we pay close attention to what sparks their curiosity, what questions they're asking, and what they're drawn to in the world around them. From those little sparks, our learning grows.

If the children become fascinated by worms after a rainy day, we might spend the week digging, reading books about soil, creating worm-inspired art, or gently exploring the world beneath our feet. When we follow their natural wonder, learning becomes joyful, meaningful, and rooted in real connection.

Emergent curriculum allows us to meet children right where they are. It’s flexible, playful, and always evolving—just like them.
